Grateful in the Success of others

It is easy to be disappointed or even jealous when others have a success in life that you want - especially when that event is something that you wanted. There is a blessing in this though - Inadvertently, seeing the success of others and being genuinely grateful for it is a life lesson in humility.

We can praise God, knowing that He cared enough to bless another. And we can thank Him for giving progress in the life of another.

"give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you"

1 Thessalonians 5:18, ESV

By doing this, we give credit where credit is due - giving praise and glory to God above, and maintaining a genuinely joyous attitude, which easily wards off any feelings of jealously or dismay. God is not ignoring you, but has chosen to enable a blessing in the life of someone that you know. So praise Him!

It is easy to be distracted with all the things of this life, but upon our death, nothing - literally nothing matters but our relationship with God. We live to follow Him, worship Him, and to love Him. When we do this, our attitude towards life, possessions, and others drastically changes. Personal gains are not as important.

Out of love I want what is best for others. I want not only their success, but that they begin to grow in their faith, that they begin to know and pursue God with everything in them. Out of love, I want to be the best example I can be. It is not possible to evangelize all of the time with your mouth - so my actions truly matter. Love demands that I live it in front of others.

Just something to think about.
