Should we want student loan forgiveness?

The question of 'Is this even fair?' comes up often with loan forgiveness.

As a Christian, I am grateful that the opportunity has arisen for those indebted to loan companies over student debt. I want what is best for others - But I also question the fairness of idea of forgiving this debt.

I think as a country, the USA is straying far from the ideals of holding yourself accountable, amongst other things. College is a place where adults go to learn a skill for the workforce - and because of this, the students who wish to go to college are fully aware that school is expensive. Very expensive. And these same students are also fully aware that when they take out a loan, they will need to pay it back.

College level students a primarily adults, and should have the rights and responsibilities of all other US adults.

As many have pointed out, this is seems to be a shallow attempt to garner young votes for a certain political party. This is a dangerous game, and if this goes to extreme in a bad direction, this will mirror events that lead up to Nazi Germany before WW2.

As Christians under a democratic government, we have a unique privilege to vote for our countries leadership. We should be willing to take advantage of this to promote our faith. This is a free country, but we can bless others by trying to procure strong leadership that wants a strong country with the Christian themes of love, hard work, charity, and putting others first.
